Family Promise of Greater Modesto is the local part of a nationwide network that provides a specialized and effective program for families with children experiencing homelessness.
Our Interfaith Hospitality Network, a partnership of local congregations, offers an opportunity for volunteers of all faiths to help transform lives by reducing homelessness. Family Promise operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year under the direction of a professionally skilled Director, Case Manager, and Board of Directors.
Unlike traditional shelters, we mobilize community resources such as: houses of worship for lodging, congregations for volunteers, social service agencies for assessment and referrals, and existing facilities for day programs. With our strong network of resources we are able to help homeless families achieve lasting independence at a third of the cost of traditional shelters. Nationally, nearly 80 percent of the families that IHNs serve go on to long-term housing.
